There are two Pony Club branches in London, and seven British Horse Society-affiliated Riding Clubs.

Riding in London

These are organisations that help the rider and horse improve their performance and provide a social environment in which to enjoy riding.

For more information click on the links on the right to visit their websites.

Pony Clubs

The Pony Club is the UK’s fourth largest youth organization with 50,000 members up to 25 years of age. 15,500 of those members do not own a pony or horse and have joined at Pony Club linked Centres around the country.

There are 16 riding schools in the London area offering Pony Club activities for young people. For those lucky enough to have a pony, there are two Pony Club Branches within London and a number on the outskirts of the capital – click on our website to find your nearest Branch or linked Centre, or contact the Pony Club office on 02476 698300.

Activities you can get involved with include:

Achievement badges – equine such as handling & grooming or non equine such as British wildlife.

Certificates - awarded for completing various levels of Pony Club tests that cover riding and care of the pony. Some of them are nationally and internationally recognised and can set you well on your way to professional equine teaching qualifications.

Competitions – at all levels either within your riding school or Branch, or perhaps qualify for the National Championships! You can take part in Dressage, Showjumping, Eventing, Polo, Polocrosse, Mounted Games, Pony Racing, Endurance, Tetrathlon, National Quiz and Horse & Pony Care.

Above all, make friends and have fun!!

For more info on each of the activities, please check out our website. Many of the British Equestrian team members at the last Olympics were once members of the Pony Club, perhaps you can follow in their footsteps!
