Hoof Olympic Legacy Project
LISTEN AGAIN HERE AS HOOF OLYMPIC LEGACY PROJECT IS A HIT ON BBC RADIO LONDON
You can listen again to the live BBC Radio London broadcast discussing the influence of the Olympics on equestrianism in the capital and the impression left by the Test Event at Greenwich Park by clicking the play button below.
The interview features Jodie Maile, a BHS registered instructor, who in voluntarily chairing the HOOF-supported London Horse Network meetings over the past year, has helped shaped the sport in our capital city.
Inspiring London's centres to collaborate to improve business practices and coaching standards, to break down the purely elitist misconceptions equestrianism often holds and to attract more funding into the sport, the proprietor of Mount Mascal Stables, John Window was also interviewed on an evening show.
Mount Mascal Stables has already directly benefitted from the help of HOOF.
From modest beginnings 45 years' ago with two horses and one small paddock, John has devoted himself to growing Mount Mascal Stables into a thriving equestrian centre in the borough of Bexley.
And, through a London Horse Network funding workshop supported by HOOF, Mount Mascal achieved funding for the first time in its history - securing a £25,000 grant for a project to help increase participation and enable a wider cross-section of the community to enjoy riding.
The success of the HOOF supported London Horse Network has also led to Sport England supporting Regional HOOF Networks, many of which are being launched this summer.
Over 100 people registered to attend the South East Regional HOOF Network launch on 13th July and a similar number are expected to attend the South West launch on 27th July during the Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead.
If you want to have your say and help bring more people in to our sport, it's never too late to join your local network. Contact your BEF Regional Representative via www.bef.co.uk to find out more.
