Celebrity Horse Rider : Katie Price (Jordan)
The Interview
1. What are your first memories of horses or horseriding?
I remember I used to ride a 12.2 grey pony called Echo and it used to bomb off with me all the time. I used to fall off almost every time I rode it.
2. What was your funniest moment on (or off!) a horse?
My cousin and I rode the horses naked in her garden.
3. Who is your horse related hero?
John Whitaker: I used to have picture of Milton on my wall.
4. What advice would you give to someone who is considering horseriding?
Go for it because it’s a great experience and a lifelong hobby.
5. Do you have any particular equestrian ambitions?
Yes, to compete at a high level in dressage and, thinking about it, maybe even being in an Olympic team!
6. What are the most important things about being involved with horses and horse riding for you?
I just love being around horses. It takes my mind off work and I’m constantly learning. I love it all – the fresh air, the mucking out, the lot!
7. Do you feel more opportunities to ride should be offered to children – either through schools programmes or other incentives? What do you think would get more children into the sport?
I used to have Saturday lessons. My Nan took me every week. So, yes, I do think more opportunities should be offered to children. It’s just the best sport.
8. Have you anything else to say about horses and horseriding?
Having the opportunity to ride is a good incentive to make children work harder at school.
